Postimi i Princ Lekës
Si sot 93 vjet më parë, më 1 Shtator 1928, në mëngjes, ora 9.12, “Asambleja Konstituente shpalli Shqipëninë – Mbretni demokratike, parlamentare dhe të trashigueme”.
Gjatë vitit 1920, Shqipëria po përjetonte një periudhë të zgjatur trazirash politike dhe destabiliteti.
Pas zgjedhjeve të parakohshme të 25 gushtit 1928, deputetët e parlamentit nga Skrapari propozuan që Shqipëria duhet të shpallej sërish mbretëri. Ky propozim u pranua dhe u mor në konsideratë nga Asambleja Kushtetuese.
U ngrit një Komision Statutor, i cili propozoi një ndryshim regjimi nga Republikë në Mbretëri Kushtetuese. Ky propozim u miratua nëpërmjet një votimi më 30 gusht 1928 nga Asambleja Kushtetuese, e cila e shpalli Shqipërinë Mbretëri demokratike, parlamentare dhe të trashëgueshme. Më pas u ngrit një komision i cili këtë vendim ia komunikoi Presidentit Ahmet Zogu, duke i ofruar atij fronin mbretëror.
Më 1 shtator 1928, vendimi i Asamblesë Kushtetuese hyri në fuqi. Nalt Madhnia e Tij, Zogu I, Mbreti i Shqiptarëve, mbajti këtë betim me duart mbi Bibël dhe Kuran:
“Unë, Zog I, Mbreti i Shqiptarëve, në minutën që hyp në fronin e Mbretërisë Shqiptare dhe marr në dorë pushtetet mbretërore, betohem para Zotit Fuqimadh, se do të ruaj njësinë kombëtare, pavarësinë shtetërore dhe tërësinë tokësore; gjithashtu, do ti përmbahem Statutit e do të veproj pikërisht sipas atij dhe sipas ligjeve në fuqi, duke pasur parasysh gjithmonë të mirën e popullit. Perëndia më ndihmoftë!”

🇺🇸🇬🇧During the 1920s, Albania was experiencing extended periods of political turmoil and instability.
After the early elections on 25thAugust 1928, the parliamentary deputies from the southern region of Skrapar proposed that Albania should once again be declared a Monarchy. This proposal was accepted and taken under consideration.
A Statute Commission was created, which proposed a regime change from a Republic to a Constitutional Monarchy. This proposal was approved by a vote on 30thAugust 1928 by the Constitutional Assembly, which proclaimed Albania as a democratic, parliamentary constitutional hereditary Monarchy. A commission was then created which communicated the decision to President Ahmet Zogu, offering Zog the Throne.
On the 1st of September 1928, the Constitutional Assembly proclamation was unanimously put into effect. His Majesty Zog I, King of the Albanians, took the following oath on the Bible and Quran:
“I, Zog , King of the Albanians, on ascending the Throne of the Albanian Kingdom and assuming the Royal powers, swear in the presence of God Almighty that I will preserve national unity, the independence of the State, and its territorial integrity, and I will maintain and act conform the Constitution and Laws in force, having the good of the people always in mind.”So Help Me God”!
